Games Day, held on April 30, was a lucky day for our Landlovers members! After checking in at the Palmetto Ballroom, guests were able to purchase 50/50 and raffle tickets to try their luck at winning some amazing prizes donated by our wonderful community. For the first time, tickets for the 50/50 and Gold Level Prizes also could be purchased in advance, and winners did not need to be present to win.
After working up an appetite by deciding which prize bags to drop their tickets into, guests enjoyed a fabulous brunch buffet with delicious choices for all. As everyone was settling in, renowned New York City vocalists, Trevor Martin and Jessica Fishenfeld, performed two sets of songs, mixing Broadway show tunes, opera classics, and some favorite standards.
At noon, Landlovers members adjourned to their game tables to try their luck at bridge, canasta, mahjong, poker, scrabble, and dominoes. For the first time, both men and women joined in for couples’ bridge. Also new this year, was the addition of Putting and Corn Hole Contests for those who were golfing in the morning or not interested in playing a table game, but still wanted to participate in Games Day to support the Landlovers Foundation! We had a great turnout, and a member bar was provided. Prizes of gift cards to the Landings Club were awarded to the winners.
While the games were being played, winning tickets for the Gold Level prizes, the 50/50, and the raffle prizes were announced, and the lucky winners left with a prize and a smile. Despite the economic impacts of COVID-19, our wonderful community came together to provide fabulous prizes for Games Day in support of our Landlovers Foundation. The Gold Level prizes included:
- Gold Literati Membership For the 2022 Savannah Book Festival - Valued At $450
- Palmers Steakhouse Chef’s Table Dinner for 10 - Valued at $1,500
- Gift Basket Sponsored By The Landings Company - Valued at $500
- Dinner Package from The Grey - Valued at $500
