Theft

On Tuesday, February 9, Security responded to a residence on Ovenbird Lane for a report of a theft from a vehicle. Upon arrival, the resident reported that his unlocked vehicle was parked in the driveway overnight. When he entered the vehicle the following morning, he discovered the contents of the center console had been thrown on the floor, and $180 was missing from the vehicle. The resident did not wish to contact Chatham County Police Department (CCPD). Security will canvas neighboring properties to see if other vehicles were entered. Residents are reminded to make sure their vehicles are locked at all times and not leave anything of value in plain sight.

Vehicle Accident

Security responded to Diamond Causeway and Lake Street for a report of a two-vehicle accident without injuries on Wednesday, February 10. CCPD was already on the scene upon arrival. Neither party involved was a resident. The responding officer learned that the first party struck the second party on the passenger side of the vehicle. CCPD issued a citation to the first party.

Suspicious Incidents

On Saturday, February 6, a resident on Franklin Creek Road reported seeing an unknown male run through his backyard and hop the fence headed toward Green Island Road. An officer on patrol was in the area already and did not see any individuals or vehicles at the time. A second check of the area resulted in negative findings.

Security responded to the Moon River area on Friday, February 5, for a report of suspicious individuals. The caller advised that there were two unknown females in the area taking photos of houses. A patrol officer checked the area and was unable to locate the individuals.
