Still Time to Bring One for the Chipper

If you haven’t disposed of your Christmas Tree yet, there still is time to bring one for the chipper.

Again this year, Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is sponsoring Bring One for the Chipper tree recycling through Saturday, January 9.

Simply remove all lights, string, wire, metal hooks, nails, ornaments, tinsel, fake snow, and bags before dropping off your tree at the airport recycle lot on Aggett Drive. While you are there, you also can drop off holiday wrapping paper and cardboard in the nearby recycling container.

Your recycled tree, along with the others donated, will be ground into mulch to provide groundcover that reduces soil erosion and conserves water in landscaping at the airport. Some of the trees will be used in the numerous airport lake and pond habitats.
