Vehicle Accident

On Friday, December 11, Security, Skidaway Island First Responders, Chatham Emergency Services, and Chatham County Police Department responded to the four-way intersection of Diamond Causeway and Green Island Road for a two-vehicle accident with injuries. The first vehicle was travelling east on Diamond Causeway and apparently ran the stop sign, striking the second vehicle as it was turning left onto Green Island Road from Tidewater Way. The driver of the first vehicle was a guest, and the driver of the second vehicle was a resident and transported to a local hospital for further evaluation and treatment. Both vehicles were removed from the scene via tow truck. At the time of the accident, all stop sign lights were functional except the one on the southbound McWhorter Drive’s sign.

Structure Fire

On Friday, December 18, Security, CES, SIFR, and CCPD responded to a residence on Sweetgum Crossing for a structure fire. The residents and family pet safely made it out of the home with no injuries. The fire was extinguished by CES, and the cause is unknown.
