Landlovers Socials Planning is Underway 

The Social Chairs have graciously volunteered, the dates have been chosen, and the venues have been reserved. Meticulous planning has ensued to provide fabulous and creative events for all Landlovers members. 

As often is quoted and very fitting for this environment is the quote from Robert Burns, “The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry.” We will continue to put our members’ safety and well-being at the forefront of our planning process for future social events. Each month in the Landlovers Newsletter there will be a status update of the pending socials. 

2020-2021 Landlovers Fun and Fundraising Updates 

 Please mark your calendars for these dates (assuming that all will go as planned!) 

• December 8 - Holiday Cocktail Party, Palmetto Variety Pavilion, 6-9 p.m. 

• February 9 - Winter Social, Palmetto Clubhouse 

• April 30 - Games Day, Marshwood 

• May 1-3 - Flea Market Intake Days, TLA Parking Lot 

• May 13 - Flea Market, Lutheran Church 

• May 11 - Auctionmania, Palmetto Clubhouse or TBD 

• May 13 - Closing Event, Palmetto Clubhouse 

Landlovers Winter Wonderland Holiday Cocktail Party 

While the weather outside is [not] frightful -- the [bon]fire is so delightful. We guarantee no snow, but a fun evening with friends in an outdoor, socially distanced environment. Please join us on December 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Palmetto Variety Pavilion for a Winter Wonderland – Savannah Style, as we kick off the holiday season. We will welcome the holiday season with chestnuts roasting on an open fire and with bonfires adjacent to the Variety Pavilion to support social distancing, bountiful hors d’oeuvres reminiscent of selections seen at outdoor European Holiday Markets, complimentary champagne upon arrival, a members’ bar, and holiday music and caroling. Outdoor Holiday Attire is perfect! 

Reservations opened on October 28, and you must be a Landings Landlovers member to attend. Proceeds from the Winter Wonderland will be used in the 2020 Landlovers Grant Program. If you are unable to attend our Winter Wonderland gathering, please check out the reservation link when issued to help us keep up the Landings Landlovers tradition of philanthropy, as it will allow you to donate directly to the Grant Program during this holiday season. 

Landlovers 2021 Flea Market – Important Date Changes! 

The Landlovers Board recently approved delaying the 2021 Flea Market from March to May of next year. This change has been made to safeguard our community, given the current and anticipated pandemic environment. The hope is that the delay in the date will increase the chances that the Flea Market will take place next year. 

 Please note the following date changes: 

        •  Intake Days - May 1, 2, and 3 

        •  Flea Market - May 8 

        •  Auctionmania (Silent Auction) - May 11 

All of these dates will be reviewed again in early February and adjusted, if needed, based on the current health environment. The decision at that time will be final. 

In the meantime, we are continuing our Pre-Intake Process. Please consider making early donations by emailing fleamarketintake@gmail.com to donate furniture, larger items, or collections of items or anything that you no longer need.
