Landlovers Socials Planning is Underway

The Social chairs have graciously volunteered, the dates have been chosen, and the venues have been reserved. Meticulous planning has ensued to provide fabulous and creative events for all Landlovers members. Robert Burns is often quoted, and his quote is very fitting for this environment: “The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry.” We will continue to put our members’ safety and well-being at the forefront of our planning process for future social events. Each month in the Landlovers Newsletter, there will be a status update of the pending socials.

2020 Skyway Capital Markets Pro-Am Raffle Tickets On Sale Now.

The 2020 Skyway Capital Markets Pro-Am has been rescheduled for September 30, in conjunction with the Korn Ferry Tour tournament. The PGA TOUR has once again reserved a tee time for The Landlovers Foundation fundraiser raffle.

This Skyway Capital Markets Pro-Am has been redesigned to ensure everyone’s safety, considering the presence of the current pandemic environment. Benefits, such as the golf with a pro, access to food and beverages, and merchandise still will be part of the core event. However, in pursuit of safety, the group gathering events, including the Draft Party presented by Sterling Seacrest Partners and the post-round awards ceremony have been cancelled. Ticket sales will follow the same format as earlier this year. One $150 ticket will secure a chance for three players to play in the Skyway Capital Markets Pro-Am. However, as we did earlier, you may opt-in as a single player for a $50 contribution, and the campaign chair will match you with two other single players to participate in a shared $150 ticket.

Buy tickets now:

  • Email LL2020WaysandMeans@gmail.com with your ticket selection ($50 or $150, and include the names of the player(s) participating, or tube your check payable to "The Landlovers Foundation" with a note indicating the names of the player(s) to 7 Marina Drive.

NOTE: The PGA TOUR COVID-19 guidelines requires all participants to be tested for COVID-19. To ensure everyone’s safety, raffle winners will receive free COVID tests compliments of the PGA.

Tickets for this event will be on sale until September 20. The drawing takes place September 25.

Landlovers Activities are Underway

Our Activity Directors and Chairs are working diligently and creatively to find safe ways to host Landlovers activities. Many of our activities have been delayed as we work to operate safely and in accordance with CDC recommendations. However, we are excited to report that certain activities are up and running and ready to entertain and support our members:

Stitch and Bead

When: Current members will be contacted by email for their opinion on when and in what setting it is safe to meet this fall. Prospective members should contact chair Leslie Mathews.

Normal meeting time is the first and third Tuesday of each month from 3 to 5 p.m.
Where: Host home will be announced the weekend before by email.
What Else: Meet with your fellow Landlovers who bead, knit, crochet, or needlepoint in members’ homes twice a month. Be inspired by others’ creative endeavors, learn a new stitch, or teach a new stitch. Come and enjoy the good company and conversation of fellow Landlovers needle artists! Contact the chair to be placed on the list to receive notification of meeting place each month. Please be willing to host the group at your home at least once during the year. Light refreshments served.

When it’s time to recruit volunteers for more casseroles, we will send you an email explaining how it works and how you can sign up for a specific date that works for you.

Since 1979, SAFE Shelter has been Savannah’s only shelter dedicated to victims of intimate partner violence and their underage children. To learn more about Safe Shelter, visit their website (safeshelter.org/).
