President’s Update - 8-13-2020

By John Holmquist
President, The Landings Association

At our Annual Meeting this year, I said that one of our goals was to continue to improve our communications with our members. Little did we know that the meeting would be one of the last events of the old normal. Sheltering in place and social distancing have replaced the spontaneity that we were used to in our community.

While The Landings Association can communicate information we believe is important and of interest to our members, we need to know what questions and concerns you have. In today’s world of social media, you can access many sources. Social media has become a part of our lives. Knowledge and accuracy, however, are not prerequisites to posting on social media. The best source of information is TLA.

You can contact me if you have questions at jholmtla@gmail.com. If I can’t answer the question, I will refer it to someone who can. If you want to contact another Board Director, you will find their email addresses on our website (https://landings.org/board-directors). If you contact me, I have one request: Please be civil. We are a community deciding how to chart its future and how to preserve and increase its property value. The Annual Dues proposal is not an “us v. them” contest.

We have also decided to resume, in a COVID-19 compliant manner, our evening informal drop in sessions beginning the last week of August. The format will use reservations to schedule members. More on the specifics will be announced soon.
