Fun Fact Friday

Traffic calming is a term that evolved in Europe to describe a variety of methods to slow cars as they move through commercial and residential neighborhoods. Speed tables, traffic circles, and rumble strips are other commonly used approaches. Did you know that radar speed signs also are traffic calming devices?

Radar speed signs are designed to slow down speeders by alerting them of their speed. Statistics show that drivers who are speeding will slow down up to 80% of the time when alerted by a radar sign.

Thanks to a generous grant from Landings Landlovers and your Capital Asset Management Program dollars at work, The Landings Association’s Security Department recently purchased a new radar sign with trailer to replace one that was stolen in 2019.
