COVID-19 Screening and Testing Through Local Health Department
The Coastal Health District is offering free COVID-19 testing to eligible individuals. Currently, the following people are eligible for testing through the Department of Public Health:Â
-
People with symptoms of COVID-19 which can include fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and new loss of taste or smellÂ
-
Healthcare workers, first responders, and other critical infrastructure workers, with or without symptomsÂ
-
Residents of a long-term care facility or other group residential setting, with or without symptomsÂ
If you would like to be tested for COVID-19, the Coastal Health District can offer a screening over the phone. Simply call the COVID-19 Testing Call Center (912-230-9744). Call Center hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you meet the testing criteria, the Coastal Health District will contact you with an appointment at one of its specimen collection sites.Â
Please remember, all screening must be done over the phone. Do not visit a health department clinic in person for screening.Â
