Coronavirus (Covid-19) Update from the General Manager

The Landings Association (TLA) continues to follow developing information regarding Covid-19. This morning at 9 a.m., we participated in a conference call with Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA). We learned that CEMA remains in the monitoring phase for this pandemic. The participants provided updates on various closures. Although the Governor has declared a state of emergency, Chatham County has not moved to a local state of emergency.

The Landings Emergency Action Team (EAT) remains activated and TLA initiated a second remote meeting of the team this morning. Various closures were reconfirmed by the participating island organizations, many of which are included in the following Coronavirus link on our website home page. Please visit

Currently, the hours of operation for TLA’s administration office (600 Landings Way South) is  Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, we strongly encourage residents to conduct business with us by phone or electronically as much as possible to enhance social distancing. As a reminder, feel free to use the TLA Mail Drop Box (shown below) near the front entrance to the building instead of entering the building. There are also drop boxes at this location for Utilities Inc. (whose offices are currently closed to walk-in customers) as well as The Landings Club. TLA staff will check the TLA mail box three times each business day (at 8 a.m., 12 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.).

We are reviewing “work-from-home” remote options for our employees, should that be required. Staff also is currently working with the various TLA Committees to conduct test runs of our remote meeting platform in preparation for the upcoming meetings.

If you missed previous messages from TLA on Coronavirus, or want to review them again, they are posted on our home page Coronavirus link, along with a list of Closures, Postponements and Cancellations, and key Coronavirus website resources (
