COVID-19 Coronavirus Update from the General Manager

General Manager/COO, The Landings Association

Dear Residents,

As noted in our Enews last Friday (https://landings.org/news/2020/03/05/covid-19-information-general-manager), The Landings Association continues to diligently monitor the latest on the COVID-19 Coronavirus and continues to take this situation very seriously.

As a reminder, we have posted links on our website homepage to the CDC , the Georgia Department of Public Health and Coastal Health District and strongly encourage you to monitor them for regular updates and information. In addition, the Association’s Emergency Operations Plan contains a section on Pandemics. Please click here to view that document on our website.

The Association convened our island-wide Emergency Action Team this week. There were 27 people from various entities participating, including The Landings Company and The Landings Club. Topics discussed include the current risk assessment and steps for businesses and employers to take for prevention. Members from each participating entity advised of the measures they are taking, including enhanced sanitation and prevention protocols.

At this time, the Association is continuing business operations as normal with the exception of community programs held in the Sunset Pavilion. Events such as Science at Sunset are being postponed until further notice to promote and support social distancing recommendations of the health professionals. However, there may be additional actions based on direction from the CDC, the local health department, or state government. In the meantime, we are focusing efforts on more opportunities to virtually connect, such as conducting meetings via conference internet or call-in services, such as GotoMeetings, and will continue our live-streamed Board meetings. For your health and safety, we strongly encourage residents to conduct business with us electronically if at all possible.

We appreciate you may have questions about prevention and containment, particularly as new reports emerge daily. While your Association’s role and authority in such matters are limited to ensuring the continuity of our services and operations to you, we strongly encourage everyone to follow the guidance of the professionals to help protect your own health and well-being and that of our community and employees. Those steps are easily found on the links provided on our homepage.

Sincerely,

Shari
