Fun Fact Friday

Did you know that Black Friday wasn't originally termed such for shopping, but rather for sport? To be more precise, it was termed for the annual Army vs. Navy game in Philadelphia. During the 1950s the city was swarmed the day after Thanksgiving with people arriving for the football game and the extra crowds meant easy targets for shoplifters and pickpockets. It wasn’t until the 1980s that retailers were able to reinvent Black Friday as something positive, and the rest, as they say, is history.
