Oktoberfest at Landings Harbor Set for October 24
It’s time to dig out your lederhosen and dust off your beer steins! The Skidaway Island Boating Club (SIBC), along with Carefree Boat Club and the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Skidaway Chapter, will host an Oktoberfest October 24 at Landings Harbor Marina from 5 to 7 p.m.
Members of CCA and both boat clubs are invited to enjoy four kinds of brats, ’kraut, slaw, and southern potato salad during the Oktoberfest at the Marina’s picnic grounds. The per person fee for members is $10 payable online at www.skidawayislandboatingclub.org.
Also, there will be a fabulous raffle with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting the Savannah Homeless Authority’s Tiny House Project for homeless veterans. Raffle prizes include a 90-day Carefree membership, a rod-and-reel set from CCA, and a one-year SIBC membership.
The last Oktoberfest event was a lip-smacking success! Be sure to RSVP by the October 19 deadline and bring a folding chair and a few greenbacks for the raffle. The rain date is October 28. For questions or more information, email siboatingclub@gmail.com.
The Skidaway Island Boating Club promotes boating and the use of the Skidaway Island waterfront. Boat ownership is not a requirement. Annual membership is $75. To become a member, visit the website (siboatingclub@gmail.com) to download an application form.
Carefree Boat Club is “Boating Without Owning,” providing an affordable boating experience that is fun, safe, and easy, through boater training, top-quality boat maintenance, and excellent customer service.
CCA is the voice of the recreational fisher and an active organization that continually works for the restoration, preservation, and enhancement of our coastal environment. It also provides educational and social opportunities for its members.
