Theft

A resident contacted the Main Gate on Saturday, May 11, to file a theft report. The resident stated that she and her husband as well as several other family members had been at the Franklin Creek Pool from approximately 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. At some point during that period, her husband’s wallet was stolen from one of their bags. The wallet contained various items including a credit card which already had been used several times. Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) was notified and is investigating. The Landings Club will review camera footage of the incident as well.

The resident was travelling on Diamond Causeway toward the Main Gate when the vendor attempted to turn left onto Westcross Road from the Causeway. The resident collided with the vendor’s vehicle causing damage to her front end as well as damages to the right side of the vendor’s vehicle. No injuries were reported, and CCPD cited the vendor for making an improper turn

Open Area Fire

Security and Chatham Emergency Services (CES) responded to a residence on Marsh Island Lane for a report of an open area fire on Sunday, May 12. Upon arrival, officers found two small palm trees that appeared to be burnt with the surrounding areas and pine straw smoldering and covered in ash. CES soaked the area to ensure no additional flare-ups would occur. The cause of the fire is unknown as the residence appears to be a vacant property.
