Girls on the Run is So Much Fun!

This spring, The Landings Girls on the Run team boasts participants from four schools across Chatham County. That might sound intimidating at first, but thanks to the unique curriculum developed by Girls on the Run International, the girls were able to quickly bond, and no one would ever know now that they were strangers just a few weeks ago.

The program incorporates physical activity with meaningful issues, such as bullying, conflict, and friendship, to help girls in third through fifth grades develop high levels of self-confidence. One important aspect of the program is goal setting, with the ultimate goal being to complete a 5K at the end of the program.

We call this event their Celebration Run to celebrate all their accomplishments throughout the program. All the Girls on the Run teams from our region (six counties in Georgia and South Carolina) will come together for the Celebration Run, but the best part is that YOU can join the Celebration Run to show your support for our Girls on the Run team. It is an untimed fun run on May 4 at 9 a.m. at Savannah State University.

Whether you want to cheer us on from the sidelines or run beside us, we’d love to see you there to join in the fun of this life-changing program.
