The Savannah Golf Championship will take place on our island March 26 – April 1. It is important that the community knows what to anticipate from this event. This is the first of a new series of weekly email communications to educate and inform members of the important Tour details like volunteers, timelines, car/golf-cart parking and ticket information.
What You Need to Know
Schedule of events (March 26-April 1):
Monday: Practice round
Tuesday: Practice round, Junior Clinic
Wednesday: Practice round, Pro-Am, Downtown clinic
Thursday: Opening ceremony, Round 1
Friday Round 2
Saturday: Round 3, Family Day (tentative)
Sunday: Sunrise service, Final Round, Closing ceremony
Note: Deer Creek will be closed on the prior Saturday/Sunday (March 24-25) to allow for setting up the course (roping, signage, etc.).
Tickets
All club memberships will be given two, free, week-long tournament tickets. If you need additional tickets, they can be purchased at half off the original price.
Interesting Facts
• Charity is a big part of the PGA TOUR. Since the Tour is a non-profit organization, all net proceeds from every tournament across all Tours stay in the local communities with over $2 billion given back to the communities so far.
• During our event, there will be a “club members’ only” lawn area with a member bar at the 18th green (adjacent to the patio on the pro shop side). A great way to enjoy watching the pros play this spectacular finishing hole!
