Gray’s Reef recruiting for four Sanctuary Advisory Council seats
The Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary Advisory Council is recruiting for four open seats:
-K-12 education, and
-living resources research.
Applicants do not necessarily need to have first-hand experience in the sanctuary, just a familiarity with the needs of the represented community in the region. Gray’s Reef encourages all individuals with a desire to represent their community’s interest in the management of the sanctuary to apply.
The Gray’s Reef Council provides the Office of National Marine Sanctuaries with advice and recommendations on the management of Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary. The advisory council is composed of 19 representatives from various user groups, government agencies, and the public at large. The members represent a variety of stakeholders, including fishing, diving, conservation, science, education, citizens-at-large, state agencies, and federal agencies.
Applications are due by May 31, 2020. Applications not received or postmarked by May 31, 2020 will not be considered.
