Follow up Reports - Burglary suspects
Two burglary suspects were arrested for the incident reported in May on Low Country Lane, and two suspects have Grand Jury indictments pending. More information will be shared as the case progresses through the criminal justice system.
Recorder’s Court
The incident in July involving two dogs on Rookery Road, which resulted in two citations from Chatham County Animal Services was heard in Recorder’s Court on September 19. The judge dismissed both charges.
*All persons are assumed innocent until proven guilty.
Fire
On October 15, TLA Security, Chatham Emergency Services, and Chatham County Police responded to a fully engulfed golf cart at Tidewater Way and Modena Road. No one was injured. The exact cause of the fire was unknown at the time of the report but was believed to be related to a battery malfunction.
Cyclists
On October 16, a cyclist was seen entering the community through the employee parking lot adjacent to the Main Access Control Facility (ACF). The cyclist eventually was located and confirmed they are a resident. Cyclists are asked to check in with the Officers at the Main ACF, or callboxes at other unstaffed gates, if they do not have an RFID device on their helmet.
Dog Complaints
Officers continued interviews and are in the process of obtaining written statements from parties involved in the previous dog-related complaint on Rookery Road to ascertain if, in fact, the dog left the dog owner’s property.
Officers responded and provided statement forms regarding allegations of a pet owner allowing their dog to run loose, and another dog owner that allegedly allows their dog to run loose and fails to clean up after their pet.
Officers also are assisting two residents regarding their alleged agreement in July that originated from a dog-related incident which, unfortunately, resulted in injuries.
Pet concerns that violate Chatham County Ordinances are sent to Chatham Animal Services.
