One of our boaters found a baby squirrel that had fallen out of a tree. He carefully placed him in a shoebox and brought him to our attention. Our team contacted the Savannah Wildlife Rescue Center, and they directed us to bring the baby squirrel to their location in Thunderbolt. Our dockmaster, Dylan Bedortha, delivered the squirrel safely. After an initial examination, they told him she would be ok. The wildlife around Skidaway Island is so important to the beauty and wonder of The Landings.

Low Country Hook Ocean Race - September 17th
Every year, the Low Country Hook Ocean Race is held and is one of the sailing season’s premier events. This year, the Hook Race will be organized by the Chatham Sailing Club and the Yacht Club of Hilton Head and sponsored by The Landings Company (among others). SIBC members will help with the logistics of the event. This exhilarating event starts at Hilton Head Island, sailing past Tybee Island and then through Wassaw Sound, finishing at The Landings Harbor Marina. The Dockside Bar is the perfect location to view the finish line of the race and cheer on the winners. Come and enjoy the fun on September 17.
The Landings Harbor Marina dry, wet, and jet ski storage is at full capacity. We continue to maintain a waiting list for all slips.

Feel free to call the marina if you would like help determining the best time to go depending on your preferred route.
We have added another single ocean kayak to the list of available rentals. That brings us to six single kayaks and one double kayak.
Evan Electric is scheduling the completion of the underground repairs next week. Weather forecasts delayed this portion of the project. The final phase is expected to take a full day, and power will be interrupted to all docks and the facilities on the fixed piers.
