8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday-Sunday

The afternoon thunderstorms put a damper on this past week and weekend. There was a circuit board issue with our fuel pumps which prevented us from pumping gas over the weekend. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. The issue was corrected on Monday, and we were able to resume operations.

With boat movements at a minimum, our staff took advantage of the time and replaced wheels on some of the jet ski racks, pressure washed the deck outside of the fish cleaning shack, scraped the dock anchoring pilings, and continued replacing the sacrificial anodes on the seawall.

Landings Sailing Club

There will be a new session of the Basic Sailing Course beginning on Saturday, July 23 to be offered by a certified SEAS (Society for the Education of American Sailors) instructor in collaboration with local sailors from The Landings Sailing Club. This is intended to teach basics of sailing to those 21 and over who have never been on a sailboat, as well as those with some experience. This is a two-day course that includes classroom instruction plus an on-the-water session. The cost is $100 per student. $25 is refundable if you join TLSC within 30 days. You must be a Landings resident. Please reach out to Angela Margolit if you’re interested at 973-296-8011 or amargolit@hotmail.com.

Dry Storage

The Landings Harbor Marina dry, wet, and jet ski storage is at full capacity. We continue to maintain a waiting list for all slips.

If you're at the Marina looking for a way to cool off, we have a great supply of ice cream in the ship store, and of course cold beverages.

Evans Electric inspected “B” dock electrical system last week and found a few 110v outlets were faulty and a couple of breakers that were weak or faulty. The outlets were replaced this week. Replacement breakers are on order and will replace the weak breakers found during the inspection as soon as they arrive. The dock’s main electrical distribution panel is scheduled to be replaced in August. This will resolve many of the random electric issues that are affecting “B” dock boaters. As a reminder, the marine 30AMP and 50AMP outlets are designed for long-term use. The small 110v outlets should be used for temporary power.

For those of you thinking of Kayaking this weekend, remember there's a Super Moon known as “BUCK MOON” July 13, 2022. According to NASA, this is "When a full moon coincides with the Moon's closest approach to Earth in its elliptical orbit". That means the tides are a little on the extreme side, which makes for a much stronger current than usual. Plan accordingly
