Chatham County Collection Update

Executive Assistant to the Public Works Director

On Tuesday, staff received several residential phone calls regarding some thought-to-be changes that Chatham County had made to their weekly yard debris collection, specifically related to the collection of palm fronds. To obtain clarification on the matter, staff reached out to the Chatham County Public Works Director on this issue.

The Chatham County Public Works Director confirmed that no changes have been made to the weekly Yard Debris collection in The Landings. The County still will collect palm fronds on The Landings’ weekly scheduled collection date on Tuesdays. Please refer to the County’s rules on this program to ensure you are following their collection procedures.

Additionally, there have been no changes to the collection of cardboard boxes. Cardboard boxes are collected monthly on the second Friday of the month (Bulk Trash Collection).  Be sure to refer to the County’s website for any holiday date changes and procedures on Bulk Trash Collection.

Please also refer to The Landings Association’s Rules and Regulations Section L. Residents’/Members’ Responsibility, Numbers 4-6 regarding placement, timing, etc. for any yard debris pile placed curbside.

For any additional information on the County’s program, please call them directly (912-652-6840).
