Landings Harbor Marina

Marinas staff have been keeping busy with projects around the property in preparation for the boating season. There has been some slight movement with the waiting list in dry storage. Three new vessels arrived utilizing vacated dry slips this month. Please check in with the Marina Office Manager (jennifers@landings.org) or call 912-598-1901 if you have any questions regarding your position on the waiting list.

Free Vessel Safety Checks

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will be offering FREE vessel safety checks on Sunday, March 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You may make a boat movement request through the BoatCloud App to have your boat placed on a wash rack for inspection. If you have questions, you may contact Jay Gleeson (917-783-0269). This is a terrific idea to have done before the boating season begins.

Dredging Project

Dolan Yacht Service, Inc. will continue with the dredging project at Landings Harbor. The booster pump has been sent out to be rebuilt by P&O Machine Shop after having a main seal failure. The pump should be returned and back running before the end of this week. Dredging hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Some weekend work hours may be necessary to stay on schedule. This year’s project is estimated to continue for a maximum 30 days, with concentration focusing on the entrance and fairways between the docks.

This year, we may be relocating some boats to allow the dredge access to slips. The movement of vessels to staging slips will be managed by the Marinas team. They will use TLA’s workboat to tow vessels during the dredging project and will not operate vessels under their own power to staging slips during the dredging project. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Larry Sincoskie (larrys@landings.org).

All vessels are encouraged to exercise extreme caution when navigating within the basin during the dredging project. The dredge pipeline will be clearly marked with buoys and noticeable pipelines floating near the water’s surface. The location of the pipe will constantly move as the dredge moves throughout the basin. Please, never attempt to cross the dredge pipe, as this will damage your vessel and the pipeline.

Finally, if your boat is not occupying your wet slip during the dredging project, your slip may be used to temporarily stage vessels. If you plan to return with your boat during the dredging project, please contact Marinas Office Manager Jennifer Sabo (jennifers@landings.org or 912-598-1901) to avoid any issues.

Marina Ship’s Store

Replenishment of our popular French terry sweatshirt in grey has arrived as well as a new one in a green color. They are perfect for your St. Patrick’s Day festivities to show off your Landings pride and avoid getting pinched! As this weather turns warmer and those pesky sand gnats re-emerge, please know we have re-stocked the Mad Pharmacist Insect Repellent, which is the most requested and re-purchased item created and made by a couple of our very own Landing’s residents.

Landings Sailing Club

The Marinas team is putting the final coats of paint on Harvest Moon, one of our Rhodes 19 sailboats in the fleet. Work continues with some of the other vessels as they prepare for the busy sailing season to commence.

Delegal Creek Marina

Another beautiful week at Delegal Creek! Some of you may be aware that we had an issue with the fuel system on Tuesday afternoon. The gasoline is back up at both dispensers, and diesel is available at one dispenser. Additional parts are on order to repair the second diesel dispenser and is anticipated to be completed next week.

If you need to reach the marina staff, please call the landline (912-598-0023), as the marina cell phone is currently swimming with the dolphins...not our shiniest moment. That said, we have had a lot of dolphin activity in and around the marina for those who are interested. Please be respectful and "observe" these wonderful creatures only.
