Landings Harbor Marina

What a difference a week makes! Last week was so rainy and this week has been super sunny! Weekends are busy with boat movements, but we are seeing solid activity during the weekdays with boaters cleaning and performing maintenance on their boats. We are noticing several boaters showing up on Friday afternoons near the 5:00pm closing time that want to get their boats in the water. We realize the earlier closing time requires an adjustment period while it’s still so nice outside and the beginning of the weekend. Please utilize the BoatCloud app to schedule your requests. We are happy to get your boat launched for you, but it helps us tremendously to have an idea of who is coming for time/staff management sake. If you need assistance getting set up in the BoatCloud app or need some assistance with it, please do not hesitate to contact us at 912-598-1901.

Staff recently had an on-site visit with Terracon Consultants, Inc. to schedule the geotechnical engineering survey for the new dry storage rack structures. They took soil boring samples around the existing dry rack structures to determine the soil composition to assist engineers in designing the foundations for our new rack structures. We are excited to be working with Terracon and their team over the next month as we move closer to beginning the dry rack replacement project.

New Davis Vantage Pro2 weather stations donated by Skidaway Audubon were installed at the Marinas and are now up and running. To view the data, visit www.landings.org/marinas, and then choose "weather" from the lefthand menu. In addition to the 10-day forecast, the page now shows real-time weather reports from both Marinas, including winds and wind gust data. A 9-day forecast is also available to plan a full week of boating with confidence. A special thanks goes out to Rick Cunningham and John Pufahl and their team for making this new feature possible.

Marina Ship’s Store

New baseball caps are beginning to roll in! They were ordered so long ago it was like Christmas when the box arrived! Two more styles set to arrive in the next four-to-six weeks.

The new ice cream freezer is re-stocked!  Come and enjoy a single-serve cup of your favorite Leopold’s ice cream (mint chocolate chip is back – always disappears first!) or other yummy ice cream novelties! M&M and Fat Boy Ice Cream Sandwiches have been added into the mix. The calendar may say it is fall, but our temperatures still scream for ice cream!

Best price on the island at only $1 per cup! Everyone can now enjoy a cup of coffee, hot chocolate, or tea that you can brew fresh in our new Keurig coffee maker. Sip on your favorite hot drink while sitting on our porch and take in the beautiful views the marina offers.

Dry Storage

Landings Harbor wet, dry, and jet ski storage slots are at 100% capacity. We continue to add to and maintain a waiting list for all slips.

The Landings Sailing Program

The Beer Can Race/Social was well attended last Friday. The tides caused an earlier sail time which led to an earlier social time at the Dockside Bar at the Tiki Hut.  Recreational sails were at the mercy of the winds last week.  Sometimes there wasn’t enough wind, and other times, too much. Both situations provide for learning opportunities. If you haven’t come in to purchase your sailing club solar shirt, please do so before they are all gone. I have noticed several members wearing them and they look fantastic!  We’ve heard that those who wear them are getting compliments!

Delegal Creek Marina

Operating Hours 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Daily (please note updated hours)

Delegal Creek Marina

This week at Delegal Creek Marina we all were able to enjoy some cooler temperatures and sunny days. Our transient boaters are beginning to show back up, all newcomers have been very impressed with their stays. Several inquiries and many return customers that are excited to be making their way back to us. Two dock carts were refurbished with new wheels that had been on backorder from our supplier. As a reminder, please return the carts to the staging area at the Sunset building after unloading and before leaving the dock. A couple of wet slips have opened that are being filled from the resident waiting list. Please remember to provide the harbormaster with at least 30 days’ departure notice so we can adjust the billing and inform those that are on the waiting list of upcoming availability.

As the boating season winds down, we are seeing Delegal wet slip boaters coming to Landings Harbor Marina to be hauled out for cleaning and maintenance. It is very important to contact the Landings Harbor Marina office to reserve a wash rack in advance. Arriving without notice will delay getting your boat hauled out when space is limited. Boaters that have scheduled movements for wash racks will take priority over those who do not have scheduled requests. Wash rack time limits are in place to allow for dry storage operational efficiency as well as fairness to other resident boaters. Thank you for your cooperation.
