Strong ticket sales for the upcoming CCA Skidaway Banquet/Auction, set for September 14 at 6 p.m.at the Palmetto Club, underscore the appeal of this long-running event and the support for CCA’s wide-ranging conservation efforts.

“We are most pleased with the early response to this year’s dinner and auction and encourage all our friends at the Landings to join with us for a great evening of fun, good food, and an opportunity to bid on some great auction items,” noted banquet chairman, Tom Rood.

The theme of this year’s event is Fishing for Our Future, highlighting the importance of conserving marine life and maintaining and improving coastal habitats for generations to come.

“A good fishery requires clean water, nursery marine habitat, and sustainable commercial and recreational harvest limits,” said Rood. “Coastal Georgia has one-third of all the salt marshes along the East coast, key natural areas for our fisheries and our overall natural environment.”

This past year, CCA Georgia launched another series of marine habitat projects along our coast. Over the past several years, the group has funded upwards of $50,000 in habitat improvement programs in partnership with Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources.

“With our limited ballroom space, I hope you’ll sign up for the banquet at your earliest convenience,” Rood said. “This year, you can purchase your banquet tickets online by going to ccaskidaway.org. Some of our attendees have reserved a table for themselves and three or four other couples so they can enjoy the evening together. All you need to do is let us know on the online reservation form who you’d like to be seated with, and we’ll contact you to confirm the names of the guests you want at your table and be sure they’ve signed up for the evening. We look forward to seeing you on September 14!”
