SCAT Seeks Volunteers

The Skidaway Cat Alliance Team is a group of dedicated volunteers whose mission is to provide for the humane treatment, health, welfare, and population control (spay/neuter) of the free-roaming cats on and in the vicinity of Skidaway Island.

Volunteers provide, at their own expense, food and freshwater daily to community cats. Thanks to the generous donations from our neighbors, we also are able to provide veterinary care, including spay/neuter, vaccinations, and specific medical treatments.

Many of these cats have been taken into loving homes as a result of our work. In the past year, we trapped, spayed/neutered, and/or vaccinated 23 cats. Of those, 19 found forever homes! Additionally, we have helped neighbors trap escaped housecats.

There remain some very friendly kitties in foster care that would make ideal house pets. If you are willing to open your heart and your home, we can set you up with a meet and greet. We also need help with in-home temporary foster care for kitties recently trapped who are candidates for adoption through Humane Society GA.
