Fun Fact Friday

By now you likely have noticed the Traffic Hawk speed detection device located in various areas of the community. Landings Security is testing the device to see if it would be beneficial to helping reduce incidents of speeding in The Landings.

Many have asked why the device is camouflage in color. The answer, quite simply, is to allow the device to be as unnoticeable as possible to get a true picture of how often speeding takes place in our community.

Did you know that camouflage was first practiced in the mid-18th Century by jäger or military units? Their tasks required them to be inconspicuous, and they were issued green and later other drab colored uniforms to aid in this process.
