Deer Creek Automatic Gate (North Gate) Irrigation Replacement

BrightView completed the irrigation replacement at the Deer Creek Automatic Gate (North Gate) on Friday, August 29. The new irrigation system included the separation of zones (10) based by plant watering requirements, drip irrigation for shrubbery and a new Hunter Pro C controller with rain sensor. The bedded areas were also converted from sprayhead to drip irrigation to improve efficiencies within the system. As a reminder, this project is a part of our capital asset management and was approved in the amount of $9,775.40 by the Finance Committee in June.

Road Repair and Maintenance

This week, Bennett Paving completed asphalt repairs located on the following roads: Brandenberry Road, Lanyard Court and Shellwind Drive.

Storm Drain Maintenance

Southeast Pipe completed storm drain repairs located on Franklin Creek Road South and Captain Dunbar Lane this week. Staff is working with the contactor to schedule the work associated with this year’s capital project which was approved by the Board of Directors on Tuesday.

McWhorter Bridge Repairs

On Monday, in-house crews began the replacement of damaged guardrails and handrails along the McWhorter Bridge. Once the guardrails and handrails have been replaced, staff will address the damaged deck boards. Communications were sent to the community to inform them of this work and to utilize caution in the construction area. Staff anticipates completion of all work associated with the maintenance of this bridge within the next two weeks.
